Hi, doe's anybody know of a free program i can use to get layout and design ideas for my garden? iv'e tried the bbc program but it's very limited, would be very grateful for any help

Well a pathway down the middle is a great idea. Putting some retaining walls along the side and planting them with perennials can make for a beautiful landscape with less maintenance. A Trellis or a seating area in the middle can be a great way to make use of this narrow area and can be used for entertainment.
I have helped people with similar shaped areas and I designed in a fire pit in the middle. Or if you have an unused area possible put a grilling area or a fire pit. So much can be done with little spaces. My website has some real good ideas for design and maintenance.

They have built a very similar house next door to me with the same colour scheme, even the same bricks! The have replicated the exact same garden design layout and now planted the same plants in it that I have. They are currently building a decking and pergola, which I already have... guess what, the same flooring, same posts, same roofing. Today I absolutly lost it when the builder asked to come and measure my steps so they could have the same as mine. How on earth can I stop this...

Backyard Garden Basics Choose a level sunny location, away from tree roots and shrubs that will compete with your garden for water. Backyard in-ground row-gardens should be planned to run from north to south if possible. If the garden plot itself cannot be laid out this way, design the rows inside the garden to run from north to south. Amend and condition the soil as needed by adding compost, organic fertilizer such as aged-manure, humus, peat moss, and perlite. Allow 2 to 3 feet for paths between rows on your vegetable garden planner worksheets.

This is why a bed of peach roses might have a white rose in their midst. And the one mystery rose -- an orange beauty -- is still unnamed. These will eventually be moved to their correct location, likely at the end of summer. Already last summer, well before the rose garden planting was finished, the first roses were coming into bloom, and attracting the notice of visitors who came looking for rhodos. Having these early bloomers to look at lessened the disappointment when told that the rhodos had bloomed months ago, and wouldn't bloom again until next May.
