I'm redoing it, and i don't know what to do with it. It has to not be expensive, though.
You can use a number of different accessories such as garden furniture, materials such as stone and you can also plant various flowers in order to create the perfect landscape for you. Gardens which look beautiful and well designed have been landscaped and a professional knows exactly how to use the space in your garden to turn it into a magnificent looking area. Using utah retaining wall will be perfect too.

I was asked to design a small garden, mostly influenced by zen gardens. The site is shaped like a triangle, and there's bamboo on one of the corners. However, the owners don't want sand or gravel because they have dogs, and the site doesn't seem to be apt for a zen garden (there's a Mexican fountain and a cross), so I thought about using some big rocks, tall ferns (similar to lady ferns), santolina and salvia. Santolina mostly to resemble the color of gravel, and salvia because I like the scent and the purple flowers somewhat resemble Japanese cherry blossoms. Do you have any other recommendations? Thanks for the advice.
How about a small waterfall? Just the kind that bubbles over into a small pond. I would say add some Koi, but dogs+fish=bloody mess.
I think it would be really cool to add a few Tea plants. Set them off in a little corner, encircled by rocks. How cool to have access to your own tea!

I have a small space in my backyard that I would like to make into a tropical garden retreat. The size is about 15 x 8 m and rectangular. Does anyone know where i can get some designs from? Any tips on design before get my bob cat in?
Call your local agricultural extension and ask to speak to one of their volunteer master gardeners. Otherwise I would suggest you put in at least a small pond for water sounds and moisture and then we need to know your growing zone! It can be cool to have the edges in the back higher to show off more of the plants - so locate a sitting area and the adjacent pond (2M diamater is fine). Use hibiscus or marsh mallows, elephant ears, a hardy palm for your area, caladiums are always nice, bird of paradise if you can grow one, etc. Palms are good if you can find a hardy one for your area.
Small Budget Garden Design for Urban Space / Home Trends ...

Concrete cracks garden is a perfect garden design for small space, inspired by the tenacious plants of urban landscape. This garden concept recently received an an ASLA Honor Award in Residential Design for maintaining the site’s previous identity. It’s a small budget garden design and easy to apply in the backyard, it could be transformed through hostile takeover of an existing concrete slab by imposing a series of “cracks”. The rows of this garden contain a lushly planted mix of herbs, vegetables, flowers, and rogue weeds retained for their aesthetic value.

Small Garden Design
The overall design philosophy at Exterior Worlds states that the objective of any great landscape design , including small garden designs, is to create a space that is in relationship with your home and its surroundings. The essence of good landscape architecture is that your garden must functionally work together in every aspect and, at the same time, reveal your personal tastes and lifestyle. If you’ve recently remodeled your home, you may have changed its elevation or added a new room or otherwise reduced the size of your backyard and thus changed the spatial relationship of the house to the landscape. Perhaps your zero-lot line runs smack into the imposing three-story wall of a neighbor’s townhouse. Maybe your property is undersized and defined by boring straight lines. In other words: a small yard, but a big challenge.
Start by cataloging your assets and liabilities. For instance, list the large, immobile...
