My wife and I just bought a brand new home. It came with no landscaping or fencing. We don't have the cash in hand to do the job, so we're looking towards getting a loan of some sort to pay for it all in one lumpsome. Anybody have any ideas of how to go about doing this?

Credit cards are a way to borrow money if you are sensible and do not go overboard with them. A good credit rating is more valuable than money in the bank. Just use them wisely.

I don't want to mow grass inside the fence but grass grew up through our old fence and encroached on my vegetables and bent the fencing. We have to till the ground each year inside fence and don't want the tiller caught in fence or ground covers. thanks

Maybe some nasturtiums. They grow vines and have orange flowers that are supposed to keep bugs out of the garden. Cosmos are easy to grow flowers. They grow tall 3-4 feet and have nice cutting flowers. Either way you'll have to pull a few weeds until the plants get established.

If you have a lot of straight line and angles, it sound like you do. Have a curved walkway to the front and curved flower beds, concentrating on the corners of the house to round out the edges.

Thank you all. I never thought of that before. I would be devasted if my landscaping were destroyed. I have a small yard, I wonder about the costs for yard thats approx 580 sq ft

FENCE! We just had one put in and we had a very small section of the yard where I already planted a flowerbed. They "tried to work around it" but still squashed a bunch of flowers with their auger machine. They had told me that if I had more landscaping in the way then they would have had to charge more because they have to work around it and do a lot more of the work manually in order to avoid wrecking it.
I got a vinyl fence and love it...am looking forward to when I can do the landscaping!

My boyfriend's family is having a dispute with the neighbors. so the neighbors put up a fence. now since the fence is a foot away from their property line, they always want to come on my boyfriends side of the fence so they can landscape that one foot. What i am wondering is when they put up the fence did they give up that foot of property? If so, can you tell me where to get proff of this.

No, they didn't give up property. I don't understand why he wants to landscape it. But if I was b/f family I would put up a fence 1 ft. from property line . That ought to start a good gun fight over who landscapes what.Good luck , and both familys need to grow up!!!
