I have had offers from Edinburgh College of Art, Manchester Metropolitan, Leeds Metropolitan, Kingston and Sheffield University. I am interested in conservation and the ecology/landscape architecture course at Sheffield has excellent teaching marks etc. The course in Edinburgh is only landscape architecture but I love the idea of living in Edinburgh. How do these 2 universities compare? What are the students like? Which has the best reputation and higher standard course/facilities?

Unless you are fluent in Japanese, you aren't going to get into any course like that.

thank you - i wasn't expecting anyone such informative responses! if it is possible could you please tell me more about ECA / the course / student life?
I live in Sheffield don't go to Sheffield Uni but go the Hallam. Sheffield is a really good city for students in my opinion. I feel really safe in the city which I never really have in Cities as i come from the country orginally. It's also surprisingly green especially around Sheffield Uni there are lots of parks. The nightlife is really good and Sheffield uni offers some great bands at their union I have never heard a bad word from the people here and it's cheap to go out in town. However, I think the accommodation for Sheffield Uni is pretty expensive but if you didn't want to stay in halls private accommodation is inexpensive and there is a lot of competition so a lot of the houses are up to an excellent standard. Sheffield Uni does have a good reputation and the facilities are apparently good.
Unfortunately no idea about Edinburgh at all.
Congrats about getting your places.
Hey all! I'm considering pursuing a Master's degree in Landscape architecture (my BS is in Communication). I took a couple of architecture courses in high school and loved it save for the math involved. It's for that reason that I didn't work on a Bachelor's degree in architecture in the first place. I love drawing, writing, and gardening, so in most respects this would be an excellent career choice for me (I think). Did any architects out there (landscape or otherwise) struggle with arithmetic in school? Does it hinder you in anyway in your career, or did you overcome your struggles? How do you enjoy your work presently? Thanks!
Thats how i make my living in Florida,,,landscape,,architecture and design

Popular courses static in CAO offers « Ninth Level Ireland
“Points for virtually all popular higher-level degree courses are unchanged in the second round of CAO offers published this morning. The trend will disappoint thousands of students hoping to win places on the most popular courses. The courses to see a substantial drop in points are those in electrical engineering and architecture in several universities. Architecture is down five points to 500 at UCD. Landscape architecture is down from 370 to 355. Points for some nursing degrees have also dropped marginally in some colleges. But there is broadly little change in many hugely popular choices like teaching and general arts and business degrees …” ( more )
