Who has a better Landscape Architecture program: Oklahoma University (Norman, OK) or Oklahoma State University (Stillwater, OK)? Anyone that either goes to one of these schools or knows about landscape architecture please let me know. Thanks in advance!
I am a second year landscape architecture student at Cal Poly SLO. I don't know about either of those school's programs, but I do have advice on what to look for in a program:
-accredidation- if your college of landscape architecture isn't accredited, your degree won't count
-studios with low student to teacher ratios 30-1 is the highest I'd go
-which program has professors that are more qualified and have worked in a larger range of areas in the field (for example maybe one worked in residential for years and another for the forestry service and another on large-scale commercial.. get a good mix)
-what school has a pace you can keep up with
-reputation of the school and its connections- will you have opportunities to intern with alumni?
Students majoring in landscape architecture at Washington State University talk about their program, their experiences and their employment prospects.

I am going to be a senior in the fall with a degree in english and have realised that their is no job that I would actually want to do once I have graduated. I used to want to be an architect especially landscape architecture should I get a dual degree in english and landscape architecture, try to get into a master's architecture program, or not do architecture at all?
If you are financially able, keep going to school until you find something you love. A lot of people don't have that option
I'm a Junior at UC Davis majoring in Biological Sciences, but what I really want to do is architecture. I learned that the landscape architecture program requires too many number of units that I can't surpass. I also don't know if I can transfer schools at this point. What do i do?
Most transfers are only accepted at the Junior level, which I am about to begin.
You should be able to transfer... you will probably spend a little more time in school, you wont graduate in the typical 4 years... but I would think its worth it to spend a few more years in school so that you can have a career that you WANT. I had a friend in college that changed her major so much she was going nowhere, well, she still graduated in 4 years but she has a bull crap degree that she wants to do nothing with... so it was a waste of money and time... i'm sure you can transfer... go for what you want
I am going to either UNLV as architecture major
or Cal Poly Pomona as Landscape architecture major.
Which one is better you think when you are planning to be an
Architect.
However, I never heard about UNLV's architecture program.
Can anyone give me any information about it?
Is that a good program? Job oppertunity?
They are both good architecture programs.. however Cal Poly Pomona has one of the best Landscape Architecture programs in the nation! They have been named top 10 for the last several years by design intelligence. The job opportunities between the 2 are not very different in fact most architecture schools dont have a signifigantly different "job opportunity" status. Look at both and decied which one is better for you. Cal poly Pomona has a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability and the lilse center for regenerative studies to boot. I am not sure about UNLV's focus or strengths. If you want to be an architect than you should probably go for the degree in architecture, unless you want to do your undergrad in landscape architecture then do your masters in architecture...
