What education do I need for landscaping and design?
ASU Herberger Institute School of Architecture + Landscape Architecture on Vimeo by darren petrucci

I want to be a landscaper and design landscaping layouts and then do the work as well. What sort of degree do I need and how long will it take?

I'm a landscape designer, but I got all of my training for free, because the high school I went to provided that as an option for a class. But here is the school I'm going to for interior design, this is a real school and accredited.

I need to interview someone in the horticulture field...help?!?!?
NWSC Florida College

I need to give a presentation in my horticulture class in 2 weeks over someone I interview in the field of horticulture.

None of the questions would be personal. I would just like to send a few emails so I can give my presentation.

I need to interview someone in the following professions...

Greenhouse grower
Florist
Retail Sales
Ground maintenance
Turf maintenance
Turf production
Nursery production
Arborist
Extension Agent
Research Technician
Horticultural Therapist
Golf Course Management
Landscape Design
Education

I would like to find someone in horticultural therapy since that is what I am going into, but I appreciate any help from anyone.

I posted this about 2 weeks ago, but I can't get the question to open anymore, and I have no idea why :(.

Thank you so much and I appreciate every reply!!!
According to my professor, I need someone with a degree in one of the professions above and I'm not allowed to interview anyone from the university and in the city. I appreciate the answers so far.

Education help for Interior/Landscape Designer...?
Cyfarthfa Castle

Alright, so I want to be an interior or landscape designer when I graduate highschool. I know that I want to take a masters program for landscape design after my four years but I'm not sure which program in university would benefit me the most. Should I go straight into an interior designing program, get a bachelors of technology, or go into commerce so I can open my own business later on...

Truthfully, I would rather go into architechture but I'm not too good with math, or physics for that matter...so I'm settling with this. :)

Any advice, tips, personal experience stories would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks.

Students in interior design are often confused what course should they take. Some students prefer architecture but don't have the courage to take too much i.q. when it comes to math and physics subjects. Others, don't have the choice and just thought that interior design is an easy course to take. But the truth is, no. Interior design is similar with architecture and one should pass the license exam after the 4 year college program in interior design to be a fully licensed designer. First and foremost, one should have the skill and deep interest in designing (not just decorating) and basic technical skills of a designer. Of course, you don't want to end up scratching your head and confused with the subjects. Though, professors will teach that in years to come.

It seems that you really know what to do after taking your first degree course interior design. However, too much goal-oriented person have the risk of failing or having a hard time to get what a person really wants. Interior design, as a course, is good and it offers a wide range of opportunities especially in countries where real estate and business establishments is in boom. I think, I suggest you to take and finish your first degree program in int. design then have a work experience and save some money- for taking any course related or will help you in success of having an inteior design course. Landscape design is good and interesting too as a post-degree program.

Having a business related course might help too but as of the moment, focus first on what you really want in college- is it really interior design? In a span of 4-5 years many things will happen. You will either like the course or drop it off, maybe a great job abroad will come your way after you graduate, etc.

I guess it's good to have a work experience first, know the strategy in design companies, how they handle the clients, know the nature of the work- because work environment is entirely different from school. And if you are already mature and convinced enough, having a business program will do and you can take a short course on landscape design.

I hope this helps. Good Luck and God Bless!
