I installed all new low voltage exterior landscape lighting three years ago. The fixtures now have fairly noticable oxidation. I believe that they are powder coated cast aluminum. I have 20 path lights, a large five lamp pole fixture, and several floods that all have the same problem.
I invested a fairly substansial amount of time and money in this lighting and I would like to find some way to remove the oxidation without having to replace all of the lights.
You can use car polish to remove the oxidation and restore the original color but to be honest, that is what Al does. If you clean it all up, in 3 years it will oxidize again. It's the exposure to ultraviolet radiation that is the culprit.

I would like to change the exterior of my home including some structure to update it, paint, and addition of entry gates, doors, stucco, etc...as well as lighting and landscaping to tie in the whole look. What kind of person does it all? A landscape architect, interior designer, exterior architect? I need someone to design and draw plans and do it all instead of getting a bunch of different contractors.

You did not mention the style of the house. lol Is it a Craftsman, Tudor, Victorian, Country, New England what??? Hard to give ideas with just dozens of styles of homes or even a website. lol

Now that you have added Craftsman.....Just type in Craftsman house in Google. The Crastman houses were built during the Arts and Crafts Era in American and the furniture etc. was designed by Gustav Stickley. Look him up to and you will get plenty of ideas. Tiffany was also designing in this era.

That made me think of the beginning of Terminator 2 to be honest.. I seem to recall an "explosion" in red.. and she starts telling the story of what happens in the future..(the machines taking over).. I don't know about the bed.. although they might have shown a clip from the first one showing her with the guy that comes to save her.. (her son's father)
I bought my first home on October 31, 2006. It is a good starter home but I'm not crazy about the neighborhood/area and I want to plan on moving within the next year or so. I can qualify now for a much nicer home and I'm sure I will be able to qualify for even more within the next year.
There are many things I would like to do with the home while I am in it but I don't want to put too much money into it because I worry that I won't get the same amount in return due to the neighborhood. The things I am sure that need to be done are painting the entire house and new carpet in some rooms. I would like new light fixtures (the existing ones are brass) and things like that but don't want to spend money where it is not needed. I plan on doing some landscaping to make the exterior look more presentable.
I would just like to know what projects I should invest money in and what projects I can go without doing to make the home presentable to sell without putting too much money into it.
The timing is important. Watch the market. As far as what to do, I suggest only paint and minor fix up. Also, repair anything that is not working. Otherwise, spend as little as possible.
