thanks, but the two websites provided are solar lighting only, i need low voltage. i was hoping there is something out there that can be removed in winter as the house is in Maine, and they would be run over by snowmobiles under the snow
check at home depot or lowe's. but those light fixtures are meant to stay out in the weather year round

I am going to be installing low voltage landscape lights. The fixture that was picked out is a Malibu 12 volt with an 11 watt bulb. The only problem is I'm not sure how much light the 11 watt bulb will put out. Is it okay to change it to a 18 watt bulb. I am not going to be using a Malibu transformer. I will be using a 900 watt multi tap transformer, so capacity is not an issue.
You can use the 18 watt. the 11 watt is pretty bright. Your transformer can handle it so go for it. I dont like the ones that are 4-6 watts because they look so cheap.

I've tried the poor quality landscape lighting fixtures at Home Depot and Lowes. When I look online for qualily outdoor lighting fixtures they are around $80 each. Isn't there a quality product above Home Depot but below $80-$100. Looking for solid brass or copper fixtures that will last -- similar to what professionals use. Thanks!
I am sorry you joined the multitude people who found out the hard way that the hardware store lights are poor quality. Professional quality fixtures start at prices around $50.00 . There are many brands that I use and design into projects. Hadco, Rockscapes, Nightscaping, and even some Intermatic pro line. I never stick with just one brand for any design. Each brand has at least one fantastic fixture, then other fixtures that are good and some fixture not worth buying. So depending on the exact fixture that you want i.e. path light, spot light, sconce, etc. I cannot recommend a specific brand. You need to find a professional lighting store where you live and they will probably have what you need. Below are links to the fixtures that professionals use, not just similar to what we use. I installed all new low voltage exterior landscape lighting three years ago. The fixtures now have fairly noticable oxidation. I believe that they are powder coated cast aluminum. I have 20 path lights, a large five lamp pole fixture, and several floods that all have the same problem.
I invested a fairly substansial amount of time and money in this lighting and I would like to find some way to remove the oxidation without having to replace all of the lights.
You can use car polish to remove the oxidation and restore the original color but to be honest, that is what Al does. If you clean it all up, in 3 years it will oxidize again. It's the exposure to ultraviolet radiation that is the culprit.
