In terms of light out-put,how do solar landscape lights compare to low voltage lights?
Above (Page 2)

I have been looking at Malibu Solar landscape lights and notice that they post no information as to how much light they put out. They have some solar lights that have two LEDs and some with three LEDs. How do these compare with the standard 4 watt low voltage lights?

About the same but more importantly for solar non-wired lights, what is the average run time? Some cheap ones will last only 4 hours while others can make it all night.

solar landscape light malibu. How to charge the battery?
Auroras over Rønvikfjellet

Bought new Malibu Landscaping Solar lights. The problem is it is rainy for the past two days and dark and since I have bought them they never charged fully. I bought them two days ago.

So If I want to charge my Malibu Solar batteries with a Charger, what should I care about and how long to charge thnx

Im not sure I would go through the trouble plus I don't know if they are made to be put in a recharger. You can bring them in the house under the light and they should recharge. This is going to happen on many cloudy days too. Welcome to solar lighting.

what is the best solar powered landscape light?
Auroras over Kvaløya / Finnvikdalen

I want to know what will provide excellent spotlighting for the landscape and will hold full charge providing great lighting throughout the night. Also what is easy to install. I want the most for my money

NONE ! Sorry to put it that way but there is no such thing a a good solar landscape light. Even though other will probably chime in saying they have some they like. You need to go with a 12 volt system which you can install yourself or the 120 volt which you will need an electrician.

Does anbody make good landscape solar lighting products? Like a complete system?
Auroras over Mjellefjellene

I'm looking for something more powerful than those pale useless self-solar single lights, such are sold at Home Depot.
I'm looking for functionality, not a bargain.

Do solar landscape lights have an on/off switch?
Auroras over Børvastindene

I am talking about the low end pathway lights that you might get from walmart... do they have an on/off switch, or do they ALWAYS come on at night?

you can find some with an on/off switch but a majority of them don't. I think you'll find that the ones with a switch will be just a bit higher in price. All solar lights do have a photo cell though, when the sun sets the lights will turn on the light for as long as the batteries have enough power to run them.

I think it's a shame that more people don't use the better quality hard wired landscape lights. The light out put is so much better and if you notice the color of the LED light dulls and changes the color of what ever it is trying to light (usually only a 1 foot circle around the light fixture). It's more of an illusion of light, you can see the light is on but they don't really light anything.

Well, best of luck

  • How To Use Solar Powered Landscape Lighting | travelcrowd.net

Take a walk past a public garden at night an you will probably not notice what makes it so appealing when the sun goes down. It is literally right in front of you, but you will not recognize it. It is the fact that the public garden is lit up using light sources.

Like most public gardens, a team of professionals is employed to design and install the landscape. This team will arrange and plant all of the foliage, statues and rocks needed to create a pleasing look. In addition to this, they will also develop a lighting scheme that will highlight the garden’s features at night. If you are not a professional landscape designer, do not worry. The ease of installing outdoor light fixtures will allow you to achieve the same results.

Once you decide to install lighting for your garden, you might be put off by the increased power needed for the lights and the increased cost associated with it. Fortunately for you, there are solar lighting fixtures that require no electricity to run. These solar lights can be placed anywhere that receives alot of sunlight during the daylight hours.
