thanks, but the two websites provided are solar lighting only, i need low voltage. i was hoping there is something out there that can be removed in winter as the house is in Maine, and they would be run over by snowmobiles under the snow
check at home depot or lowe's. but those light fixtures are meant to stay out in the weather year round

These look like large christmas bulbs, but they are covers that go over you r landscaping walkway light, I think.
I've been checking websites & it looks like this is not yet a common item. Your best bet is to contact a speciality store like http://www.countrychristmasonline.com/ which has an in-house designer. They take phone orders (888) 314-0173 so you can call & ask if they have these Christmas landscaping light covers.

I would like to buy landscaping lights that put out some good lighting. I prefer the solar but I have seen them in action and they have very poor lighting. Does anyone know of a good quality landscaping lighting? Thank you for your answers.
To my way of thinking, low voltage and solar lighting should be called luminous markers, not lights. I've given mine away in favor of 115V exterior PAR floods and spots connected to dimmers, photocells and GFIs. More light and more control. I've used a few CFLs, but make sure you get those that can be dimmed. RScott

I just installed 7 landscape lights and 2 spotlights this weekend and the light is very dull. I am using a 300 watt box and I ran about 250 feet of cable. the landscape lights are 10 watt and I believe the spotlights are 50 watt. Thanks!
Either your run is too long or the gauge of wire that you've used for the length of run is too small. 250 feet is a pretty long run. If you can make two runs of 125 feet you may see quite an improvement.
I have been looking at Malibu Solar landscape lights and notice that they post no information as to how much light they put out. They have some solar lights that have two LEDs and some with three LEDs. How do these compare with the standard 4 watt low voltage lights?
About the same but more importantly for solar non-wired lights, what is the average run time? Some cheap ones will last only 4 hours while others can make it all night.

» Energy Efficient Windows Effect On Your Landscaping @ Green ...

Energy Efficient windows may be a great savings inside the home, but their effect on your landscaping can cause you just the opposite situation, as magnified rays are reflected from your windows directly onto vulnerable leaf tissue.
For several years I have observed the damage in turf grass and garden plants caused by the radiant heating that comes off of new energy efficient windows. In areas exposed to full summer sun for more than 8 hours a day, I have measured temperatures up to and exceeding 160 degrees beamed directly onto plant material. Plants that normally seem healthy fall through spring will begin to show leaf scorch, and die back to the ground. Areas around your house that were lush and green prior to your window installation now look dry and damaged through the hottest summer weather.
How To Discover If Damage Is Due To Energy Efficient Windows:

Texture, color add magic to flat Valley landscapes
The yard — the word itself evokes the rectangular green canvas that surrounds your new Red River Valley house like an unwrinkled tablecloth.
It’s the least intriguing aspect of your new Fargo-Moorhead home — and the one thing no one can miss.
Outside this area of the world, natural ups and downs suggest a strategy for adding drama to the acreage that embraces your home. Here, though, with a geography dedicated to the absolute principle of “flat,” the naked yards of Fargo-Moorhead await compassionate intervention.
They beg for a living landscape that’s sculpted and designed … that captures the eye and intrigues the senses with all the texture that Nature overlooked.
Enter the texture.
Yesterday’s rigid foundation plantings of arborvitae give way to soft, undulating clusters of shrubs and perennials. Concrete sidewalks yield to flagstone paths and pavers. Flower beds of straight lines and tilled earth give way to clumps of colored mulch to stymie weeds and conserve moisture. Unbroken planes of grass best suited to mowing break down into subtle sections adapted for family use, from child’s play to entertaining.
