Most homes have gardens. Most have Thai style gardens. In the north people have fruit trees. Lots of Mangos. Also lemon grass because its an herb used for cooking.

Notes:
My fiance and I are using an English garden theme for our wedding and I'm having a little trouble. From the research I've done, there are several different types of English gardens and each has unique characteristics, but the websites I've found only list famous English gardens while not really explaining the quintiscential elements that make up an English style garden. From what I understand there are landscape gardens, formal gardens (which were supposedly modeled after the French and Italian formal gardens), country gardens, and cottage gardens. I could really use some definitive information on this to help us design our theme. If anyone could tell me the difference between the different types of gardens and what flowers/plants make them up I would really appreciate it. We chose this theme because my fiance is English and Scottish and is wearing a kilt for the wedding. We thought an English garden theme would be appropriate also because the reception is in a banquet hall in a park.
When I think of English Garden I picture the cottage garden. But there are many kinds as you say, just like many kinds of American gardens. I think you can pick the kind that appeals to you. You might do better at the library where you could get several picture books on the topic and find what appeals to you most.
PARIS PROJECT
Outline of monument in French: Salomon de Brosse
Qui: Queen Marie de Medici
Que: Today the Salomon de Brosse is used for tourism. The palace was used as a royal residence up until the time of the revolution, when it served as a prison for a short time. The palace took up its final incarnation as home of the French Senate in 1804. The gardens later opened to the public. Today the Queen Mother might see a young French family with a stroller and bicycle walking through the park, or Parisians visiting among the chairs lining the flowerbeds and pools.
Quand: The Salom de Brosse began construction in 1610. Baroque style fountain added its final touch in 1624.
Qu: Luxembourg Gardens (translate to French)
Pourquoi: The Salomon de Brosse was built so Queen Marie de Medici could mourn her husband’s death- to turn her negatives into positives.
2 faits: (interesting facts)
1.Find this photo. Her statue is on the left toward the tree line.
The sculpture depicts a woman
The sculpture depicts a woman very much in control. Marie de Medici looks forward with stern gaze and controlled coiffure. In her right hand the Queen holds a scepter, a symbol of power dating back to ancient times. She wears a large ruff with a flowing cape over her formal gown. The bodice of the gown has a lace collar, a beaded geometric decorative panel down the center, and ends in lace trim. The sleeves of her gown are similarly trimmed. Resting on her bosom, a cross signifies her Christianity. A heavy flowing skirt completes the ensemble.
In addition to these trappings of wealth, the sculptor grounds her erect posture by displaying the tip of her right shoe. This small but important feature firmly establishes that the figure has legs and is not simply floating in a skirt. Standing with one foot slightly forward demonstrates the potential for movement and enlivens the figure.
2.Find biography of Queen Marie de Medici. How did she rule? She was exiled from France before the com
She was exiled from France before the completion of the palace in 1631.

I was given a painting (reproduction, nothing worth millions) years ago after my Grandma died. My ex-husband sold it without my knowledge. I have looked on the poster/print sites, but although I can see it in my mind I don't know the name of the artist or title of the print. It featured two women in 19th century dress in a parlor/drawing room, one of them was putting on a bonnet while looking in a mirror. The other was standing near a window with French/glass doors opening on a garden. It remember the word 'bonnet' was written on the back, but don't know if it was put there as part of the name of the piece or if someone had just written it. It was in script, in ink, I recall. It has been over 20 years ago, but I always loved it as a child and have never seen it again. Any help on where to look for it or the style/movement of it would be appreciated. If it sounds familiar to you, please let me know. It was large, by the way, about 18-22 inches wide x 24-30 inches tall.
try going to art.com and just describing the painting.
the same thing happened to me
where I lost just a small 8x10 picture of this really pretty red-ish sunset and just typed that in and found it on there.
You of course aren't going to find the original copy, but it helps to just search the description. That way, it might lead you to the artists name, the title, ect.
good luck!

French Garden Trends In Floral Design From Interieurs et Fleurs ...
On recent trips to Paris and the German countryside, I found inspiration for my flower designs at every turn – in a rustic country garden that provided an idyllic backdrop for an international master class, in the fashionable Parisian neighborhoods of St. Germain and the Marais, and at the haute couture shows during Fall Fashion Week. The new floral aesthetic focuses on creating a rustic, vintage look of casual elegance using flowers from the woods, meadows, vineyards, and gardens. There is an emphasis on incorporating contrasting elements – colors, materials, textures — into the bouquets and using organic elements (such as folded leaves, bundled twigs, etc.) in innovative ways to form couture finishing touches. While nature provides inspiration and the raison d’etre, trends in haute couture fashion and the decorative arts continue to influence the poetry and artistry of l’art du bouquet. The nostalgic flower garden celebrates classic, timeless look – these bouquets feature...
Why French Garden Design
Gardens use the same of geometry and symmetry that Andre Le Notre established in the 17th Century. The Lodge at Versailles had originally been a quite retreat used for royal hunts, but Le Notre turned it into a palace that became the envy of the European Elite.
Based on a pattern of parterres gardens divided by radiating walkways, reflecting pools, and ornate stone coping, the Versailles Gardens reflected an awareness of order and system that brought intricately sculpted individual elements into a complex, interconnected unity visible only from a balcony or palace room. This style was rapidly adopted as the standard of all the French aristocracy.
Even though the typical Houston home resides on far less land than even a modest Old World Estate, the topography of the Gulf Coast highly favors a variety of French garden designs. Just like much of France, Houston resides on a very level plane that naturally lends itself to the type of formal bedding used in French parterre gardens and knot gardens.
