looking for inexpensive landscaping ideas that i can have at my camper/rv (earthy - style preferred)?
Buddhist Temple

i am trying to find some good ideas of making a patio area that will be right next to my small camper. the length would be about 20 feet, and it will be facing a tree line.

my main interest is to have some flat surface area and i want to keep the style very organic. i considered a deck, but after pricing that it was just too expensive. so i guess the alternatives would be patio pavers or stones.

any ideas or good sites for the thrifty outdoor landscaping ideas?

Go to a menards or home depot, they have hard plastic stepping stones that look very natural and are very cost effective. they sit either on the ground or you can sink them in to flush, they have different styles and colors and sizes. oh and there are the sqare brick or the semi roulnd stones.

Landscaping plant ideas for old, country-style home. Would like heath & heather plants. Where to purchase?
Snowy modern deck

My home is a bright-light country blue with white accents. It's an old farmhouse that was relocated to town many years ago. The previous owners here in town had no flowers, plants or trees, so I'm starting from scratch here.

The house is a tall 2 story and harsh looking. It's very boxy and symmetrical. I'd like to soften it's appearance, attempt to downplay it's height and add some charm and curb-side appeal.

I've found that plants placed closely around the house foundation looks tacky, but the foundation itself looks tacky too.

My husband is dead set against vines. He's afraid they will damage the siding and eves of the house.

I'm not interested in modern looks particularly. They wouldn't match the style.

I'm thinking heaths and heathers, which are proving hard to locate. I also believe phlox, daisies and soft looking plants would go well. My dilema is these plants are about the same height. What are some taller plants that would match this scheme?
Great responses! Thank you everyone!

I live in northern Ohio and have a small, rectangular-shaped yard. Not too much room on the sides of the house, or in front.

Thanks again for the great ideas. Very much appreciated!

You might want to consider a curvy outline to your plantings. This will help soften the lines. A curvy walkway to your door will also help. You can fool the eye by making your plantings curve without having to replace your walkway.

Check out BHG web site, I got a ton of ideas there when I re-landscaped my yard 2 yrs. ago. Home Depot had most of the plants I was looking for. Also, pick up a gardening book so you don't waste your money on plants that won't work for your climate.

Have fun!

how do I get open office to print landscape style?
Modern single family home in snow

My wife needs to be able to print off landscape style on the pc. She is an ace at Word but Open Office is different. Can it be done? does anyone know how to do it?
that's what we did but it didn't work.

To change the page orientation click on Format>Page. Then click on the Page tab and the orientation to Landscape.

How do you make a document in Microsoft Word landscape-style?
Pathway dug to modern brick house

I'm trying to make a brochure for a class, and I don't know how to turn my document sideways, enter my information, and print it so it's sideways.
Help?

At the top, click on File. next click on page setup, then you'll see Orientation, and below are two pictures of the two ways you can set up your paper; portrait and landscape. click on landscape and select OK and you're good to go!

Which way is the professional way to staple a page that is printed landscape style?

should it be stapled on the upper left hand corner with the lettering facing right or facing left?

Face the paper the way its to be read, the staple goes upper left of the landscape orientation (or the bottom left if you are holding it portrait style) so the print is still read left to right.

Father and son landscaping duo from Crosby claim gold with their first ever Southport Flower Show entry

A FATHER and son landscaping team from Crosby have been celebrating after scooping a gold award at the Southport Flower Show.

Jeff Rawsthorne and his father-in-law John Baldwin of Crosby Landscapes, impressed the judges with their art deco style garden on the first day of the show.

In keeping with the 1920s theme of the four-day event, the pair gained inspiration from Clarice Cliff, one of the most prolific art deco ceramics designer of the 20th century.

As the only exhibitors from Crosby on the opening day of the show, their garden was awarded gold in the medium garden category.

Jeff, of Moorgate Avenue, said: “To have won an award in our first year entering the competition is great. We have attended the Flower Show as spectators before, but we had a great time going as competitors.

Makeover: Big Lot, Lots of Landscaping - Style Sheet - HGTV Canada

The team from Dirty Business had their work cut out for them when it came to this massive, brand-new suburban home . The large front lot was sparsely landscaped with fledgling trees and a few coniferous which the client wanted to save and move elsewhere. They wanted privacy from the road and their neighbours and a more lush, lived-in front yard, plus a bonus -- an inner sanctum filled with trees -- which is accessible from the inside only, like a private courtyard .

Before: Sparse trees and an empty sanctum.

After: The Dirty Business team moved the driveway to the side of the house and planted a row of trees in front to ensure total privacy as they grow. Behind the new growth, the new lawn creates a front garden hidden from street view (or it will be eventually!)
