I want to add to my low voltage outdoor lighting system???

Can I just put another wire on the transformer leads? I want to put a light in the other direction than where I originally ran the wire. the lighting I have doesn't exceed the transformer rating but will have any problems if I just take a second wire and connect it with the original wire to the transformer. and go in the other direction?

As long as you are under the max. load for the transformer you will be fine. I have several sets of lights in my yard wired this way. It's been seven years now and no problems.

I have a low voltage outdoor lighting system that no longer works. I need a good person to fix. Bay Area.?

I'm located in Los Altos, CA and am looking for a good person who can fix them.

How much are you willing to pay and do you need a licensed individual? I am not licenced but have wired new outlets in my garage, fixed outdoor post lights at work, replaced many ballasts, and much much more electrical work. Perhaps it is something we can discuss. Low Voltage outdoor lighting?

I have a low voltage ooutdoor lighting system and need to switch one set to the other how do I get the old lights off to connect to the other wire and what are the steps to connecting.I am a woman so patience is a virtual..thanks for your help..

I'm not exactly sure what your asking?

I have low voltage lights too. In my case I have a single "controller" and a single buried wire that runs around my landscaping. The actual lights have a little pigtail that comes off of them and plugs onto the buried wire.

If you have one or more controllers is a function of how much power/current your controller can put out. I believe they measure it in watts. Take the watts of each light and add them together. Then compare that to the controller boxes max output.

Not sure how to help you, cause I'm not clear what your asking.

Low-voltage Outdoor Lighting « Luxury Housing Trends

Installing low-voltage lighting around your home is a safe do-it-yourself project, because these lights usually require 12 volts of power instead of 120 volts. Outdoor lighting can accent certain areas of your yard or house, and it can also give you some security too.

There are a variety of low-voltage lighting designs such as spotlights, mushroom-shaped posts, polished-brass fixtures, well lights and lantern-styles. Spotlights or well lights can be nestled into flowerbeds, but if you want to light a pathway, a lantern-style can provide some glow where you need it the most. This style distributes light more evenly so the glow isn’t directly up or down.

Although you can save money with low-voltage systems, you can reduce your electricity bill by sticking with solar LED lanterns. The one below is on a shepherd hook , and it comes in rust or copper. It’s made from stainless steel, so it can withstand the elements too.
