i need help with an eml series e 100 outdoor lighting? i have no idea how to program it.?
Soft accent at night

it's one of those security lights that when they sense some one they light up. i lost the instructions, it comes with little buttons that you turn one says, sensibility, the next one says dusk/dawn, accent, and security. and the other one says time and test . even if you don't know this brand can you at least tell me how you programed yours. thanks. :]

When you switch to test your light will turn on only if the light unit is in the dark.
Sensitive setting is the range the sensor will respond by turning on light
There should also be a switch to set 5 10 30 number of minutes you want your unit to turn on for
Keep in mind this lighting unit does not work unless it is dark enough to consider it to be dusk
Dusk means will turn off when it is light enough to consider it to be dusk

Low Voltage Outdoor Lighting Runs?

I am installing 7 low voltage lights to accent my home. I am placing 4 lights on the left side of my home and 3 on the left. Utilizing the "T" technique I am making 2 runs. The first run is 30 ft, the first three lights on this run are 5 ft apart and the last light is at the end of the 30 foot fun 15 ft from the first lights. When I come from my transformer and splice into this run to allow for equal distribution along that 30ft of cable, do I splice in at the 15 foot mark. Leaving 3 lights on the first 15ft and 1 light at the end of that 30 foot run?

My second run 60 feet from the transformer, where I want to slice into 20 foot of cable holding 3 lights. 2 lights are 5 ft apart and the 3rd light is at the end of that 20 ft of cable 15 ft away. Should I splice in at the 10 foot mark on the cable to allow for even distribution power along that line?

these low voltage systems do have issues with voltage drop in the line, but the two scenarios that you describe don't sound like ones where the exact location of the splice is going to matter a lot. the drop is proportional to distance and it is also proportional to the amount of current in the line. Without knowing exactly what the drop is we can say that it is X volts per foot per load.

For the first run you don;t say how far it is from the transformer to the 30 foot cable that the lights are on - so can't help you a lot there.

But for the second run, you start with 60 feet of cable just to get there and there are 3 lights. So, you've dropped 180x in that 60 foot run. Assume you splice to the end of the cable - so we're at the first light and we're 180x down form the supply voltage. 2 loads worth of current go another 5 feet to the next light so that's another 10x drop - small compared to what you lost in the 60 feet of cable to get here. Then one load goes another 10 feet to the last light so another 10x.

So the first light sees supply voltage minus 180x
the second light sees supply voltage minus 190x
and the third light sees supply voltage minus 200x

if X is small enough they all see a decent voltage and put out more or less the same amount of light. If x is large they all see very little voltage and don't put out much light at all.

It's clear that moving the tap point around on the 20 foot cable isn't going to have much effect on the lights.

Tork model no. 1101 outdoor lamps question?

is there a way to turn them off so they never turn on and just have the lights hitting the house to turn on when i flick the switch?
when i flick the switch, i driveway post and accent lights turn on, but i dont want that

if you dont want to get messy and safe. have an electrician rewire your system, tell him what you want. you dont want to burn your house right?

Base of a lilac color for my wedding but what would best my best accent colors??! Help!?

I am having an outdoor wedding this August with the base color of light purple (varying shades between periwinkle and lavender), but I am stuck! What would be my best bet for my accent colors? Now I already have a lot of white things (garland etc, plus my guest book and pillows) but, what would be a stand out color to go with lilac that I could incooperate in everything?!
I need to have something that stands out but nothing too gawdy.
Also best answer will go to whoever can help me figure out how to implement that color(s) on my tables, flowers, etc and be able to know where to put all the colors together at!
Thanks!

BEAUTIFUL color choice! I would say SILVER. It is something that could be incorperated into everything and gives a very modern feel compared to old which has more of a vintage feel to it. here are some Ideas:
Flowers:
Siver Ribbon wrapped around the boquet along with silver baby leaves (fake)
Centerpiece:
It depends on what is is but a cool Idea would be to buy some small decorative candle mirrors (biglots would have them cheep) and place fresh purple flowers in vintage or modern sinver vases. or use the same mirrors and place glass bowls with lilac colored water (food dye) and multipurple glass pebbeles in the bottom (that is what I used for my wedding except pink and silver were my colors.)
Purple and silver tulle bows:
Take the two color and make big bows to line your walk way secure with (fake) pearl pushpins (the big ones) and tape if you need it. Fluff tulle after hanging.
Dinnerware:Purple Napkins and silver silverware (lol!)
tables: if you are doing round tables then place longer silver round table cloths on the bottom and top with a smaller purple tablecloth.
To hold favors and such: buy some wood baskets and spray paint them silver. then buy some purple fabric and line them.

I really hope this helps. :) I can send you some pictures from my wedding if you would like a visual. Just email me. Congrats! ~Brooke

Tiffany Blue/Chocolate brown wedding this fall. Need advice on centerpieces & decor for an outdoor wedding!?

Getting married on my Parents estate this Sept. I am going to rent a wedding tent, but am trying to come up with some some ideas for my reception. I do like Tiffany blue and chocolate brown with a gold/bronze as my accent color. I do not want to decorate in a "Tiffany" theme. I use that to describe the color only. I want a rustic (cause of all the trees and nature) look that is also romantic with lots of pretty lighting. Any suggestions to add to a very vague idea of what I want would be much appreciated!!

Here's some bridal bouquets with blue flowers- just so you can see if there's any flower that looks good for your colors for the centerpieces:

Outdoor lighting brightens a home, adds design drama and contributes to after-dark security, experts say.

New solar-powered units offer a cost-efficient alternative to power cords. Solar lights sit dormant by day, absorbing energy from the sun's rays. At dusk, the dance begins.

If you lament the fact that you can't see your hummingbirds at night, you can now buy an electronic hummingbird roosting on a solar-powered stem. At dusk, it lights up, changing colors through the night from white to red to blue.

LIGHT TIPS

1. After purchasing solar lights, remove them from the packaging and set them upright in bright sunlight. Choose a day with clear skies and no threat of rain.

2. Charge for 12 to 14 hours (over two days) to ensure batteries are ready for installation. Decide on layout and measure the area. Space lights evenly for uniformity.

3. Choose a location that gets several hours of full sun daily. Check soil to make sure it is loose enough to push light bases into the ground.
