I need to install my outdoor Christmas lights on my balcony, but don't have an outlet outside. Isn't there some pay to plug them into the outdoor light bulb socket? How do I do it, what do I need to buy?
At my Appartment Complex, each Year I remove the Entire Light Fitting, and attach my Bare/Stripped Extension cables End Wires,to the Two Wires Hanging from the Balcony Ceiling.Just make sure you use Duck Tape to insulate the Joins. Also turn off all power in your appartment first.

I'm hanging Christmas lights for the first time and need to connect my house lights to a bush net light set. The only outdoor extension cords I can find are three prong, the Christmas lights are two prong. Every website I found says you have to use a three prong for safety's sake. How do I work around this safely?
If the lights do not have a ground buying an adapter doesn't make any difference. Plug the grounded extension cord into then the 2 prong male lights into the 3 prong female cord. Just do as said above and make sure to form a proper seal with electrical tape.
They don't see Christmas lights with a ground so whether you use a 2 or 3 prong extension cord is not going to matter.

I just bought two strings of outdoor Christmas lights, they're the small bulbed variety.
Is it safe to use them inside, on a regular basis?
yes, I used to use push pins to pin them to my ceilings (white string ones), plug them into a power strip, plug that into the main light switch and use them as regular lights everyday. Very romantic lighting.
Mine were mixed up with fabrics - if you're worried about fire hazard, plug them in for 30 min and then touch the light bulbs to see how hot they get. Just warm will be ok, but hot will melt or scorch fabric/wood. If they're new (recently made, not from Grandma's attic) they you should be fine. They also sell LED types and all kinds of new fun stuff.
Ok, maybe I am making this way harder than it is, but I am completely baffled when it comes to hanging outdoor Christmas lights. Here's where I need help... If you want to hang a string of Christmas lights off of (for example) a 13 ft strip and lights only come in (for example) a 15 ft strip, how do you hang a 15 ft string of lights across a 13 ft area without having excess lights hanging off? As I drive around our neighborhood, it would appear that no one has any excess lights hanging off of their gutters, nor do they have any strands which are too short. It would appear the strands they've hung are miraculously perfect in length. The lights aren't hiding anywhere (say, on the backside of the roof or anything), so what am I missing here? Strands of lights only come in certain lengths and not everyone has the same area to cover. So, how do I hang my lights without either a) having excess amounts hanging off of the gutters or b) having a strand which is too short?
This "doubling back"... wouldn't that show? In my head, I imagine it to look like there's too many lights or extra brightness in that area (where you've "doubled back"). Am I making this too hard? : )
Try doubling the very end of it back so that none hangs over. That way yours looks perfect like everyone else in the neighborhood!

Now Is The Time To Prepare Your Christmas Lights
Nothing makes a home look more festive during the holiday season than tastefully arranged outdoor Christmas lights. After all, what says “Merry Christmas” better than a brightly decorated home glowing in the night?
Homeowners, though, do have to be careful when decorating their residences with holiday bulb strings lights. Yes, you do want your home to be bright; you do want it to be cheery; and you do want it to stand out. But you don’t want it to be overly garish. A home that boasts too many bright strands of bulbs and lights will disturb the neighbors and reflect badly upon homeowners.
Be careful, too, with musical or noisy outdoor Christmas decorations. Remember, they may seem festive to you. Your neighbors, though, may not want to hear “We Wish you a Merry Christmas” blaring from that six foot Santa Claus every night for a month.
The best way to decorate your home with outside holiday lights is to create a plan. Decide from the beginning what kind of decorating you want: Do you want your home to be decorated simply with classic and endearing white icicle lights? Or do you want a more whimsical look, one that includes glowing snowmen or reindeer? Maybe you’d prefer Christmas lights and decorations that come in an array of colors as varied as any rainbow?
...Outdoor LED Christmas Lights - Info Barrel
Decorating for the Christmas season has become a very big thing. People love lighting their houses and driving around looking at what others have done. Outdoor LED Christmas lights have made this practice a wiser, safer, and more stunning thing to do.
First of all, lighting your house up with Christmas lights can be expensive. With LED Christmas lights you get all the beauty for a fraction of the cost. They use 10% of the energy that traditional strings of lights would use. This will save you a bundle on your electricity bill.
They are also loads safer. Each light produces less energy then its traditional counterpart. This makes it less of a fire hazard, even in a tree. The bulbs of the LED lights are also made of plastic instead of glass. This makes it harder to break them, no matter how you treat them.
You have a ton of options when it comes to choosing outdoor LED Christmas lights. You can find them in a huge variety of colors and shapes. You can get them in traditional...
