I really want to do a good show this year and i have 6 mini trees on a light controller and next year ill do the whole house but i Have a spot light and i have nothing to do with hit? any ideas please answer both questions:
1. What are some ideas for outdoor lights?
2. What can i do with a spotlight?

i have a ranch and a mini spotlight plus i have way more than just those six trees oh yeah and if anyone has any idea how to keep away animals from chewing the lights please tell me!!!!!

For your first questions-DON'T GET TACKY


it's a good idea to stick to a single color of lights (usually white) and continue the rest of your decor along with that same color...but if you're like me, and you have to have multicolored lights, make sure you have other decor to match that decor.

if you have a pathway leading up to your front-door, line the trees up along the path in some sort of patter

you can also get like 2 of those animated grazing deer things, scatter the trees on your front lawn, and put the deer around them.

You might want to take measurements of the places where you plan on putting lights-that way, you know how many you need and you can estimate how many boxes of lights you need to buy.

NEVER USE NAILS TO HANG LIGHTS-it leaves holes and creates a hazard it something goes wrong with the lights..

there are these clips that you can hang from rain gutters, as well as the same clips with an adhesive backing...3M makes some really good ones, but they're a bit pricey..I know that there is this other brand that has a similar product and has a large tub of them for a decent price.


if you need extention cords, make sure the cords are suitable for outdoor use, and figure out how you are going to run them before buying them/setting them up.



Avoid fake snow-it looks like you have a cheap sheet of cotton on your lawn (which is basically what you have), its hard to clean up if it gets wet, and if you have a lot of squirrles in your area, they will chew it up..

a reef is basically a staple in christmas decor-get a reef, but put lights in it (keep it simple and use white lights)

you can buy 2 pointsetta plants and put them outside of your door


For the spotlight-if you plan on doing a nativity scene (idk what your religion is), you can illuminate it with the spotlight..you can also use the spotlight to add general lighting to your decor...aim it downward towards your decor..

The gnats are here every summer. Stay in the same spot, 5ft off the ground on the sidewalk leading to the front door. They always just swarm around in the same spot all day so I do not know where they are coming from. We dont have many plants in the yard and the soil is naturally dry. There are no pools of water around either. We also have a bug zapper on all the time but they do not go near it (there is no other light source distracting them)
They only stay in the same spot when we dont get near. I have tried spraying them in the past. I am thinking they are staying in the shaded area.

Spray them with ammonia. That'll kill 'em.

I moved into a new houes and the out door lights don't work i believe that the swich with a timer is for the outdoor lights but it was disconnected i would like to try it and see if it works. there is an empty spot on my light swich and the hole where made at the same place so please help me with the colours.

I live in a dwonstairs apartment. There is an outdoor cat who lives around the corner from me and who likes to "visit" my cat by sitting in front of our door and trying to get my cat's attention. Ever since then my cat has been spraying urine by on the carpet by the door. I keep cleaning it up, but she won't stop marking her turf. It's terrible and stressfull! I'm getting married in two weeks and I can't deal with my house smelling like a liter box. What's worse is that it's really hard to tell when she does it, because my carpet is already a light brown color so I constantly have to feel the carpet to see if it's wet. I've tried all kinds of things. I heard cats hate the smell of citrus so I've been using Orange scented cleaners but she just sprays in the spot next to where I've cleaned. So the original small spot has turned into a two foot perimiter of cat urine. For the love of God, can someone please help me?? I love her but can't live like this the rest of my life!

Duh! get her spayed!

The Jackas is on his deck cooking something on the grill with the damm spot light comming though my window what the heck is wrong with this guy.

What an awesome guy. Sorry about the light and all, that part sucks. But that guy is pretty cool and you should be happy to have such bad a s s neighbors.
